I know there`s the one pool out in Brooklyn that`s really cheap, but I was just wondering if anyone knew of any other good places to go and swim that weren`t too crowded or insanely expensive.

Thanks!

The Hudson is free and relatively empty most of the time.

I wish there was an option to flag responses and unhelpful hahaha.

And what you said isn`t even true any more...apparently the Hudson is quite busy these days according to today`s New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/16/science/earth/16dredge.html?_r=1&hp

"Twenty-five years after the federal government declared a long stretch of the Hudson River to be a contaminated Superfund site, the cleanup of its chief remaining source of pollution began here Friday with a single scoop of mud taken by a computer-guided dredge."

Seriously though, does anyone know of any gyms etc. that have pools? Somewhere on the west side would be tremendous...

Equinox on Greenwich Ave has a pool. There is a small outdoor pool in the dog run at Leroy St and West Side Hwy.

Zero thanks to Globehound here, I found out that there`s a Rec Center about 2 blocks from my new apartment that no only has a pool, but also has an indoor basketball court and a rock climbing wall. Because it`s funded by the city it`s only 75 bucks for 6 months.

If you`re interested, you can check and see all the city facilities here on their website:

There`s a indoor/outdoor pool up in Manhattan. I think as far as 147th Street.
It`s actually a huge park. Great place though.

What is mySomeday.com Close
mySomeday is designed to help you achieve those goals and dreams you’ve always said you’d get to ‘Someday’. It was born from a universal truth; everyone has ‘somedays’ they want to realize. It was designed to address a universal reality; life, laziness or lack of know-how makes achievement elusive. ‘Plans’ are meant to address this gap between truth and reality. Whether you build your own original Plan or copy and customize an existing Expert or Community Plan, this detailed roadmap is meant to get you from start to finish. With a Plan, you can track your progress, set reminders and deadlines, get feedback from the community and much more. In addition to Plans, we hope that all of the elements of the site and the social connections that spring up will take people from idea, to plan, to partnership, and, ultimately, to achievement.
