jslsurf(863 Days ago)Been having a tough time putting aside time to write. More immediate concerns, like finishing up free-lance jobs, keep filling up my dead. But I feel like I am short-changing my future to pay for the moment. That`s why I need to set aside the time to write and make it as much, if not more, of a priortity than day-to-day concerns.Flag as Inappropriate

jslsurf(820 Days ago)The first meeting of the writer`s circle was a great success. I originally conceived of the group mostly as a way to shame myself into following through on my goals, (and on that level, the stragegy is working, because I produced twice as many pages as anybody else in the group). But as I was leaving for the meeting, I started to get that "first day of school" feeling. But sharing positive feedback with my peers was incredibly motivating and the advice that I got was really helpful. It was like being in a really good support group.Flag as Inappropriate

globehound(803 Days ago)I wrote a screenplay and the key was a weekly workshop. Each of us committed to produce a certain number of pages and then we read the pages and gave feedback. It was absolutely the most helpful part of making progress. Good luck with this.Flag as Inappropriate

Actually, I have made a lot of progress. I am just a few days away from having 3 polished chapters. I just took a class on WordPress, as I plan to launch this as a serial novel on the web. I am almost done with a divorce, and that`s freed up a lot of time and emotional head space. How are you doing?Flag as Inappropriate

jslsurf(172 Days ago)I`ve been through a lot of ups and downs in the past four months. I got a new girlfriend, then broke up with her. Got a new job, then lost the job. Got back with the girlfriend and then broke up with her again (for good). Started two new jobs around the first of November, and moved the following week. Just starting to catch up now. I need to re-reform my writers group, and set up my computer and start committing to writing at least one hour a day.Flag as Inappropriate
