  • img_ rehab phase i. weeks 1-3 get full range of motion, a normal gait pattern and work on reducing swelling and pain. update: this was definitely a rating of 5 but it was definitely important. i was toldd that there could be all sorts of complications if i didn`t get full extension during this time. alas, i can fully straighten my leg. there is some latent and stubborn swelling around my knee but this is to be expected.

hiyamaja(1018 Days ago)good luck! that`s a bummer.. I want to get back into soccer as well..except I`ve only been too lazy to do it and don`t have an injury as an excuse.
I hope everything goes well during the surgery! I`ve had some friends who tore their ACL, and they all got back to playing after rehab.. so I`m sure it`ll work out! :)

globehound(1014 Days ago)I actually had the same surgery on my other knee 20 years ago. Apparently I was given faulty ACLs at birth. I may put off the surgery until late fall and try to be active sans ligament. Thanks for the comment.Flag as Inappropriate

topher(998 Days ago)That`s a shame you got the injury, but I`m glad it hasn`t stopped you wanting to continue with this goal. Good luck with the reconstructive surgery.Flag as Inappropriate

A4S4L4(948 Days ago)You should talk to my best friend, Amy. She`s on here (although hasn`t done much since she signed up). She tore BOTH her ACLs playing soccer, the first in the fall of `03 and the other one just a few months ago.Flag as Inappropriate

Gerhard(938 Days ago)Can you enlighten me what ACLs are? incidentally I damaged my knee last Saturday playing - guess what - football. Until they do an MRI on Monday they are fairly sure it`s the meniscus, but not what the damage is. Good to see that there is a life after crutches though.Flag as Inappropriate

globehound(938 Days ago)Anterior Cruciate Ligament. It runs through the center of the knee. I can assure you that there is definitely life after crutches. I had the same injury to my other knee 20 years ago. Hopefully its a meniscus as thats a lot easier to deal with. Just some arthroscopic surgery. Whatever the case, you can make a comeback and be fully active, thats the good news.Flag as Inappropriate

What is mySomeday.com Close
mySomeday is designed to help you achieve those goals and dreams you’ve always said you’d get to ‘Someday’. It was born from a universal truth; everyone has ‘somedays’ they want to realize. It was designed to address a universal reality; life, laziness or lack of know-how makes achievement elusive. ‘Plans’ are meant to address this gap between truth and reality. Whether you build your own original Plan or copy and customize an existing Expert or Community Plan, this detailed roadmap is meant to get you from start to finish. With a Plan, you can track your progress, set reminders and deadlines, get feedback from the community and much more. In addition to Plans, we hope that all of the elements of the site and the social connections that spring up will take people from idea, to plan, to partnership, and, ultimately, to achievement.
