globehound(1158 Days ago)Now that you`ve put it down on cyber-paper, the key is that you have to put together a Plan. The process alone will give you that initial momentum and then you`ll start to track your progress and you`ll have people giving your encouragement/feedback. As we grow, you`ll likely find others that have the same goal. Make it happen.Flag as Inappropriate

antfas24(1111 Days ago)Well, I`ve finally gotten around to putting the plan down. I`ve been following what this guy did in Newsday for about a month now and have lost 20lbs so far. here`s an excerpt from the article:

Once he decided to make a change, he went the drastic route, cutting out white flour, pasta, sugar, nondiet soda and even fruit. No one advised him on his approach and he did not see a physician, he said.

For seven months, every meal of every day was the same: One cup of Fiber One cereal with fat-free milk for breakfast, turkey on whole wheat double fiber bread for lunch, a protein bar as a snack and two grilled chicken breasts, one cup of brown rice and a salad of romaine, onions and homemade dressing for dinner. On Saturdays he treated himself to Chinese food - chicken with cashew nuts, shrimp and some brown rice. During this time he dropped to 307 pounds.

Workouts: A year ago this month, Kelly had his first workout - two minutes pedaling on a recumbent bike and nine minutes walking on a treadmill. Each day he added a few minutes of cardio until he reached an hour a day, six days per week, at which point he started increasing resistance. Today he continues exercising six days a week, working towards building strength and muscle.

It sounds simple and that`s what I like about it. There`s no choices, which makes it a lot easier.

globehound(1103 Days ago)Dude, this is a huge step. Keep working on the Plan and honing the details and it will keep you motivated and focused. You know, you can also set deadlines and reminders of each Step. Once you get to your goal weight, I am going to feature you in Spotlight On.Flag as Inappropriate
Foster
Foster(1093 Days ago)Congrats! Don`t ever get discouraged! Easier said than done, I know, but if you stay focused on even the slightest measurable results and cognitive successes, they will assist in you keeping your momentum. It`s a numbers game, calories in vs. calories out; this is one time where you want to incur a [slight] (caloric) debt.
If you`re ever looking for ideas in or out of the gym there are countless resources available, and please don`t hesitate to count others among them, myself included, stranger though I am. Cheers!

What is mySomeday.com Close
mySomeday is designed to help you achieve those goals and dreams you’ve always said you’d get to ‘Someday’. It was born from a universal truth; everyone has ‘somedays’ they want to realize. It was designed to address a universal reality; life, laziness or lack of know-how makes achievement elusive. ‘Plans’ are meant to address this gap between truth and reality. Whether you build your own original Plan or copy and customize an existing Expert or Community Plan, this detailed roadmap is meant to get you from start to finish. With a Plan, you can track your progress, set reminders and deadlines, get feedback from the community and much more. In addition to Plans, we hope that all of the elements of the site and the social connections that spring up will take people from idea, to plan, to partnership, and, ultimately, to achievement.
