Someday I'm going to:
Thruhike the Appalachian Trail by: Miss_Meliss
The Appalachian Trail is a 2,175 mi. hike from Georgia to Main covering fourteen states. It typically takes 6-7 months to complete, with approximately one in four hikers completing the trail. I want to live a better story.

update: research is an ongoing process, but i feel like i'm beggining to get good idea of what this hike is going to take. i've read the book how to hike the appalachian trail by michelle ray (very informative), watched the national geographic documentary on the trail, and read multiple hiker journals at trailjournal.com.

update: i've joined the local gym and set a goal of going at least twice a week. i've had a few bumps in that goal so far, but my roommate, who also joined and is planning on hiking the trail with me, helps keep me motivated.

    Step 3: Start camping
Update: I went on my very first "grown-up" camping trip this weekend (10/11) at Zion National Park. I absolutely loved it! I am pretty well-stocked in basic gear and hope to do much more camping during my journey to The Trail.

Miss_Meliss(200 Days ago)Yes! I joined the gym a few month ago and have been going once or twice a week (it`s hard to fit more in between work and school right now, but I`m getting there), I`ve gone on a few (very) short-distance hikes at Red Rock canyon (which is near my house), and this weekend I went camping/hiking at Zion National Park. This is definitely a long-term goal, but I keep taking baby-steps toward it :) Thanks for asking!Flag as Inappropriate

What is mySomeday.com Close
mySomeday is designed to help you achieve those goals and dreams you’ve always said you’d get to ‘Someday’. It was born from a universal truth; everyone has ‘somedays’ they want to realize. It was designed to address a universal reality; life, laziness or lack of know-how makes achievement elusive. ‘Plans’ are meant to address this gap between truth and reality. Whether you build your own original Plan or copy and customize an existing Expert or Community Plan, this detailed roadmap is meant to get you from start to finish. With a Plan, you can track your progress, set reminders and deadlines, get feedback from the community and much more. In addition to Plans, we hope that all of the elements of the site and the social connections that spring up will take people from idea, to plan, to partnership, and, ultimately, to achievement.
