I have a blog, http://bleachbottlebirdhouse.blogspot.com, that I started writing in after I left my teaching job at an urban public high school. I realized how much I love writing and would like to make it my career, but it`s such a scary prospect!

  • img_keep myself familiarized with blogs with a similar sensibility to by authors' whose sensibilities are similar to yours, though the content isn't the same, so you're aware of what the kids are saying these days. for example, i am in no way qualified to write about the world of videos, but the gabe at videogum is a wonderful old man (he is not an old man) and is writing in new york for the kind of audience i'd want.
    Step 3: Keep myself familiarized with blogs with a similar sensibility to by authors' whose sensibilities are similar to yours, though the content isn't the same, so you're aware of what the kids are saying these days. For example, I am in no way qualified to write about the world of videos, but the Gabe at videogum is a wonderful old man (he is not an old man) and is writing in New York for the kind of audience I'd want.2
