ColoradoBG(244 Days ago)Some say 14,259 feet while others say 14,255 feet. I say: what`s 4 feet between friends? Either way, it is a monumental hiking achievement, especially for someone like me: middle aged
(yes 51 is middle aged whether I like it not) and not a cardio maniac like some of my friends. But I am going to climb that mountain in 2010. In August. The hike is difficult: it`s 14 miles round trip and requires a very early start before dawn in order to summit and be coming down before the afternoon weather can build into dangerous thunderstorms. It also has 5100 feet of elevation gain, almost a mile straight up, or the equivalent of 510 flights of stairs. And there are some dangerous spots where you are fairly exposed with significant drop offs from the trail. The good news is that you are really not alone because many people make this climb. And the elevation gain is less than 1000 feet per mile which is relatively manageable. It`s just a long day, and a difficult hike mostly above treeline. It`s a big challenge, and that is one of the reasons I am doing it. Wish me luck and good fortune.

What is mySomeday.com Close
mySomeday is designed to help you achieve those goals and dreams you’ve always said you’d get to ‘Someday’. It was born from a universal truth; everyone has ‘somedays’ they want to realize. It was designed to address a universal reality; life, laziness or lack of know-how makes achievement elusive. ‘Plans’ are meant to address this gap between truth and reality. Whether you build your own original Plan or copy and customize an existing Expert or Community Plan, this detailed roadmap is meant to get you from start to finish. With a Plan, you can track your progress, set reminders and deadlines, get feedback from the community and much more. In addition to Plans, we hope that all of the elements of the site and the social connections that spring up will take people from idea, to plan, to partnership, and, ultimately, to achievement.
